New Delivery:
Installation of KROHNE Coriolis Mass Flow Meter
in Egypt Oil Transfer Lines

In the last 8 years, the Petroleum & Mineral Resources Ministry in Egypt took important steps in boosting the Oil & Gas sector. One of the main strategies was to modernize the infrastructure to ensure effective monitoring and control whether for crude oil or final refined products. Part of this strategy, was to recognize the Coriolis Mass flow measurement as the main technology to use in all custody transfer between oil companies, whether production, refineries or distribution.

One of the major mid-stream oil companies had very demanding requirements, like 0.05% accuracy of the measured flow rate, large flow ranges, low pressure drop, and meter to conduct smart self-diagnostics. With KROHNE Coriolis Mass flow meters “OPTIMASS” family proven track record, it won the project. KROHNE high quality and its meter design diversity for internal straight-tube and bent-tube allowed RMS to meet customer challenging requirements at the lowest cost.

RMS delivered through a partner company 19 X flow meter including 12 large size DN250 / 10” meters OPTIMASS 2400 (straight-tube design) and 4 large size DN200 / 8” meters OPTIMASS 6400 (bent-tube design). The devices are installed on multiple strategic lines that transfer crude oil and final oil products between up-stream and down-stream companies as custody transfer meters.

As the pipelines spans all over Egypt, installation is being done gradually in many cities. Currently after having more than 50% of the devices installed and in operation, customer assured his satisfaction of the meters’ performance.
